Celtic Take A Sledgehammer To Their Hampden Hoodoo

What a way to land the 100th Trophy in our glorious unbroken history. Celtic put in a performance yesterday that had fans across the globe drooling in awe. Seriously this was a classy and dominant display from a team that is only 6 months in the making and the transformation from last season is even more astonishing when you consider only one of the starting eleven was a new signing. Hard to believe isn't it? Of the 11 heroes who brought home the league cup yesterday, only Moussa Dembele wasn't a part of the disastrous Deila debacle.

Most of the credit for this remarkable turnaround has to go to our manager Brendan Rodgers who has been like a breath of fresh air since he was unveiled just six months ago. Listen to this guy talk and marvel at how he comes across. Here is someone who gets the values of our club and what we are all about. Asked yesterday whether the cup win was a good personal achievement, he swatted the question away with ease and told how proud he was to bring a trophy to the club he loves... to the people he loves! Magnificent isn't it? How must the mob across the city be hurting knowing this guy is the benchmark that blundering buffoon Mark Warburton will need to aspire to if he has any hope of halting Celtic's domination of Scottish football.

Aberdeen were worthy adversaries and did their best to put up a fight but in the end there was only going to be one winner as goals from Tom Rogic, James Forrest and Moussa Dembele (pen) sealed a glorious century of trophies for Celtic. Such is the good feeling around the club at the moment that things are being compared to the start of Martin O'Neill's reign and in all honesty it's not hard to see why. Brendan, like O'Neill is a top class manager and now that the first trophy of the season has been secured, talk will now inevitably turn to the tiresome treble nonsense. Celtic must be wary of this because the media will love nothing more than to build the notion up in order to use it as a stick to beat Brendan with if he fails. Ronny Deila fell into this trap but there is no chance of Brendan doing the same. Our gaffer is refusing to even entertain the notion and you can be sure the players will be banned from mentioning it as well.

Yesterday was a great day for the club and the Celtic fans celebrating will have done so safe in the knowledge that the team smashed their Hampden Hoodoo and is in good hands. Brendan has been here for just one transfer window and in that time he has united the fans and brought the good football and feeling back. We are about to witness something special and most importantly Brendan has given us OUR Celtic back! Thankyou Sir.

Hail Hail
