We Can't Wait To Get Going Again....God Bless You Brendan

There are many things to admire about Brendan Rodgers and what he has achieved in his short time at Celtic. After Ronny's spell in charge, the club went into the close season under a very dark cloud with plenty of regrets and much reflection needing done. Yes the league title had been secured but the Scottish Cup campaign saw us knocked out by the up and coming sevco. The only thing worse than a shootout defeat at the hands of the remnants of Rangers would be losing to the original incarnation. Fans were outraged and had little faith in the board to act in a manner that would see us strengthen our grip in Scotland as well as create some waves in Europe. Thankfully they came up trumps and the rest is history.

Brendan has come in and transformed the whole club from top to bottom. Gone is the sense of foreboding before vital matches and in it's place lies a new found feeling of confidence that this Celtic side could really go places. When the Hoops took sevco apart at Ibrox on Hogmany it signalled the end of the first half of the season and earned the players a well deserved rest. Most fans would agree that during this break we have missed our heroes immensely. Nothing seems right in the world when Celtic aren't playing. Take the international break for example... Certain fans just can't get into the whole international scene at all. They would rather see Celtic play and the very fact we are all longing for the return of the Bhoys is all down to their hard work and a manager who knows exactly what he is doing.

I for one can't wait to see what the first half of 2017 brings for the club. We have the Scottish Cup to look forward to and if we want a treble we need to ensure that trophy finds itself in the Celtic Park cabinet come the end of the season. No one is getting carried away but there is something magical about Scottish Cup final day. Especially when the sun is shining and the Hoops are involved. It has to be said I would love for us to get there and win it. Then there's our new signing Kouassi Eboue and watching what he can bring to the team. Bottom line is that if Rodgers rates him then we can rest easy that the lad can probably play a bit.

Last but not least is our fantastic unbeaten run. Obviously it will be incredibly difficult for the players to keep the record going but why can't we dream? Brendan has instilled a belief in these players that was sorely lacking last season. You wouldn't bet against the Bhoys finishing the domestic season as invincibles. Should that happen it probably STILL won't be enough for the gaffer to pick up the Scottish Manager of the Year award from our hurting enemies. Maybe not a bad thing when you consider how much they devalued it by handing it to Mark Warburton last season. Once Brendan's first season is out of the way we carry on into his second and that's where the fun will really begin as he looks to make his mark in Europe. God Bless that man.

Hail Hail
