Celtic Accused Of Arrogance By Er..... ??????

Oh how predictable the Scottish sports media are when it comes to our great club. Today the Daily Record ran their most ridiculous headline of the week and for a paper that excels at churning out utter guff that is quite an achievement.

Celtic Manager Brendan Rodgers Defends Players Over Big Head Claims And Blasts "Don't Call Us Arrogant"

Really? Perhaps the Rancid Record could point out who has actually made these claims of arrogance because from what I can gather no one has said any such thing. This story seems to have stemmed from an interview with Moussa Dembele in which he apparently urged Celtic to become Scotland's Invincibles and claimed no one could beat them. Sounds arrogant right? Well he didn't actually say that, preferring to state the obvious point that if Celtic could keep up their current form then no one will beat them. Surely even the Record's pretendy sports journalists can see that the Celtic striker's words were actually a statement of fact. Top of the tree with the first trophy of the season in the bag and unbeaten in domestic league and cup football certainly lends weight to Moussa's claim that Celtic will not be beaten if their stunning form continues. Talk of complacency and arrogance at Celtic Park is well wide of the mark so clearly the bias claim has originated from somewhere inside the Record's Office, most likely from the twisted imagination of someone like Keith Jackson who couldn't find a positive Celtic story if it knocked him down. Should we be surprised? Absolutely not!

Incredibly the Rancid Record have never ran a similar story in regards to the constant stream of urine emanating from the other side of the city. Before the season even started there were copious amounts of arrogant nonsense being spouted by whichever third rate footballer they decided to shine a spotlight on that day. Kenny Miller, Josh Windass and Lee Wallace were all trotted out and told to tell the hordes that they would be challenging Celtic at the first time of asking, not one of these hacks asked a single decent follow up question when just the one would have done...

"How do you plan to do that?"

It really would have been that simple but the Rancid Record and others like it thrive on the stupidity of the Sevconians to prop up their already plummeting sales. Most of the public turn away in disgust whenever a newspaper treats them like idiots, not that mob's fans though because hearing that sort of delusional tripe is their comfort blanket. Its soothes them and prevents an actual need to look at cold hard facts, the likes of which would haunt their dreams. Seriously what hack when writing of a resurgent Rangers sweeping all aside actually believed it? Who really thought they could win the league as they put their "putting timmy in their place" fantasies onto paper?

Keeping the blue pound is essential to the Record so maybe we can understand their need to print the nonsense they do. Unfortunately for them negative stories about Celtic are about as hard to find as Warburton's magic hat and this is why we get desperate guff like the one we got today. Sorry chaps but no matter how much you wish or try and twist it, no one at Celtic is being arrogant and no one is being complacent. Brendan Rodgers will make sure that remains the case.

Hail Hail
