Taking Care Of Business

In just 3 days time Celtic will travel to Ibrox Park for a Hogmany clash that promises to be an all-action derby against the spirit of their once feared rivals Glasgow Rangers. Of course with the club having the same (worse in some cases) fans it's only natural that we want to inflict as much damage on them as we possibly can to lay down a marker for 2017. Well for now it's time to put that game to the back of our minds because the mighty Celtic have some business to take care of first, a fact that seems to be overlooked by our friends in the media and some Celtic fans in general.

Ross County come knocking at Celtic Park tonight and before we turn our attention to the match against Sevco we must ensure we pick up three points in it. Celtic have an incredible unbeaten run to be proud of and although the media have used it as a way to increase the pressure on our players there will be no better way to cause them pain than to ensure it stays intact. If we let ourselves get carried away with the Hogmany game there is a chance we could take our eye off the ball and get a shock tonight. Not that Brendan would ever allow that to happen but players are only human and although they will say things to the contrary, it is only natural they will have one eye on the Sevco game due to the big game nature of it.

Even Craig Gordon has hinted that his teammates must not be complacent by reminding them of last season's League Cup semi-final defeat and has described the Staggies as "a very difficult team to play against" before issuing a warning that they will need full concentration and totally professional preparation. Luckily we possess a manager of the highest quality and it is doubtful that Brendan would ever allow standards in his players to drop. However the fact that Craig has highlighted the issue certainly shows that the players are aware that the only way they will be toppled is if their own minds get the better of them.

Brendan's teamsheet tonight will be very interesting and I wonder if Leigh Griffiths will feature given his recent knock against Hamilton. Leigh has been declared fit to play but will our manager risk him? It just doesn't make sense to me and if Leigh does start, can we take that as a sign that Moussa Dembele will be handed the lone striker role in the match at Ibrox? Who know's at this point because Brendan has proved he's not above making the big calls when it comes to team selections and formations.

Let's go out tonight and get the three points we need by any means necessary because if we do, it leaves us just one game away from finishing the first five months of the season unbeaten with only the great pretenders standing in our way from a 100% perfect start. Once tonight is finished we can fully turn our attention to them and ram the recent words of their arrogant players and fans right down their throats. Let's keep this run going tonight Celtic..... Let's take care of business!

Hail Hail
