Heading For The Nearest Exit

When January 1st 2017 lands upon us it will mark the opening of the transfer window and by default, only Brendan Rodgers second since he took charge of Glasgow Celtic. Naturally all eyes are on who the manager will be bringing in to the club rather than out, yet part and parcel of BR's job will be to  clear out some of the players that he just doesn't think have a future in the EastEnd of Glasgow. Bearing this in mind let's take a look at five players that will almost certainly be moving on in January or in the summer.

1: Logan Bailly

Belgian goalkeeper Logan arrived at Celtic Park in July 2015 and was signed as backup to the first choice Craig Gordon. Unfortunately for the player things haven't quite worked out the way he and Celtic would have hoped and the very fact that Brendan chose to bring in Dorus De Vries in the summer tells us that Logan's days in a Celtic jersey are numbered. Chances of this guy moving on are extremely high and it is likely to be sooner rather than later.

2: Dedryck Boyata

Ex Manchester City centre half who was brought in to much fanfare by Ronny Deila in order to replace the fantastic Jason Denayer. Despite a strong start with some important goals, he never quite reached the heights of the man he replaced and is now remembered more for his lack of concentration than defensive skills. Brendan will believe the club can do better and all things point to a swift exit for the big defender in January or the summer.

3: Kris Commons

Recently moved to Hibs in an emergency loan deal and despite claims to the contrary his days as a Celtic player look numbered. Kris has been a fantastic servant to the club and is an all round top guy, unfortunately his style of play is completely at odds with Brendan's preferred swashbuckling passing game which means the writing is on the wall for the midfielder. One who will be missed by the Celtic fans and deserving of one more day in the sun at Celtic Park.

4: Efe Ambrose

Really no words are needed for this one and it has been covered in depth in my article which you can read HERE. Erratic, error prone and just not good enough means big Efe is well and truly finished at Celtic Park. Made so many mistakes throughout his time at the club it would be impossible to read through them all in one sitting. Player will undoubtedly be moving on when his contract expires at the end of the season.

5: Nadir Ciftci

Turkish striker signed by Ronny Deila (allegedly) and a player who is simply not Celtic class. Still scored more goals than Joe Garner though so perhaps a move to Sevco and a song written into his contract is the way to go. Celtic are light up top with only Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths so expect the ex Dundee United man to ship out when Brendan ships a new striker in.

There are a few others who aren't on the list: Scott Allan, Nir Bitton and Tom Rogic.... Only kidding about that last one.

Have a merry Xmas folks and Hail Hail
